The Juniper SRX1500-SYS-JE-AC is a firewall from the Juniper SRX1500 family with 12 ports of 1GbE RJ45, 4 ports of 1GbE SFP, 4 ports of 10GbE SFP+ and AC power. It is a Layer 3 managed platform that runs Junos OS. This unit is used: inspected, powered on and functionally tested by Townsend Networks technicians before listing. One unit per order.

HOW IT DIFFERS: SRX1500-SYS-JE-AC is the AC-powered SRX1500 bundle with Junos Software Enhanced. Juniper's June 2017 data sheet lists it as hardware (16GbE, 4x10GbE, 16G RAM, 16G flash, 100G SSD, AC power supply, cable and rack mount kit) with firewall, NAT, IPsec, routing, MPLS, switching and application security. Its sister SRX1500-SYS-JB-AC is the same hardware with Junos Software Base, which leaves out the application identification, application firewall, application QoS and application routing services.

How the SRX1500-SYS-JE-AC differs from the SRX1500-SYS-JB-AC

The two part numbers are the same SRX1500 firewall hardware sold with different Junos software: the SRX1500-SYS-JB-AC with Junos Software Base and the SRX1500-SYS-JE-AC with Junos Software Enhanced, as the two listings name them. Juniper's licensing guide describes the Base package as routing, firewall, switching, NAT, VPN and MPLS, and says the Base package does not include application signatures.

Both are built on the hardware in Juniper's SRX1500 datasheet: 16x1GbE and 4x10GbE onboard ports (12 RJ-45, 4 SFP and 4 SFP+), one 1GbE management port, one 1GbE SFP high availability port, two PIM slots, 16 GB of RAM, 16 GB of boot storage and a 100 GB SSD. It is a 1 U device with 1+1 redundant external power supplies, front-to-back airflow, 150 W of average power consumption and a 0 to 40 C operating range, and it weighs 16.1 lb (7.30 kg) with its power supply.

Juniper rates the SRX1500 at 9.0 Gbps of firewall throughput with 1,518 byte packets and 4.5 Gbps IMIX, 4.0 Gbps of IPsec VPN throughput with 1400 byte packets, 2,000,000 concurrent sessions, 90,000 connections per second and 2,000 IPsec VPN tunnels.
