We buy and sell tested Juniper, Arista, Brocade, and Cisco hardware. The same bench that grades equipment for our buyers evaluates the equipment we buy from our sellers, so every grade has to stand up on both sides of the transaction.

We don't take a supplier's word for it. We test it ourselves.
Every unit goes to our own certified technicians before it reaches the shelf: powered up, ports exercised, PSUs, fans and thermals checked, then verified again before it ships. Not a drop-ship, not a photograph of someone else's stock.

- Yes. Every unit (new-excess, used, or refurbished) is bench-tested in-house by certified technicians before it is listed, and re-verified before it ships. See our Testing Process page for the details.
- How fast do orders ship?
- Orders placed by 12pm ship the same business day. Overnight shipping is available across the US, and we deliver worldwide.
- Do you buy used equipment?
- Yes. Buying and liquidating surplus gear is half our business. We buy Juniper, Arista, Brocade and Cisco hardware for cash, wire, or trade-in credit, arrange pickup, and process within 48 hours of receipt.
- How do quotes work for unpriced items?
- High-ticket and bulk items are quote-driven. Send the part number and quantity through the quote form, chat, or phone and a human who knows the hardware will come back with a firm price, typically the same business day.

Used, second hand and refurbished Cisco switches, routers and firewalls, each listed with its part number, condition and price. The range runs from Catalyst 2960-X access switches and the Catalyst 9300 and 9400 to Nexus 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 data center switches, ASR 1000 and ASR 9000 routers and parts, and ASA firewalls. Every unit is tested on our own bench before it is listed, and every unit we sell carries the Townsend 3-Year Warranty.
How we test used Cisco hardware
Each unit is logged by serial number and inspected: chassis, ports, fans, power supplies and optics cages. It then runs under power long enough to surface early failures, with power supply output, fans and temperatures checked under sustained load. Our technicians test every port and module slot for link at rated speed, clean error counters and a reachable management interface. The previous owner's configuration is erased and the unit is returned to a clean factory state, then it is checked again before it is packed. Warranty and returns
The Townsend 3-Year Warranty covers hardware failure in normal use for 3 years from the date of delivery, including ports, power supplies, fans, backplanes and module slots. If a unit fails, we repair it or replace it with an equivalent tested unit. Unused hardware in the condition it shipped can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund; contact us for an RMA number before shipping anything back. We are an independent reseller, not an authorized Cisco reseller or partner, so the warranty is our own and Cisco software licensing and support contracts are outside it. Questions about used Cisco equipment
Is used, second hand or refurbished Cisco hardware different here?
Used and second hand mean the same thing: hardware that has been in service before. Our bench grades every unit, and the listing states whether you are buying refurbished, used or new. Used and refurbished units go through the same test before they are listed.
How much does a used Cisco switch cost?
Each listing on this page shows its price. Price depends on the model, port count, PoE budget, feature set and condition, so a Catalyst 2960-X access switch and a Nexus 9300 sit far apart. Sort by price, or send a list through request a quote for one firm price on several units.
Does a used Cisco switch come with a licence or a Cisco support contract?
Our warranty covers the hardware. Software licensing and Cisco support contracts are outside it, because we are an independent reseller and the warranty is our own. Some Cisco part numbers name a feature set, such as LAN Base, IP Base or Enterprise Services; if the software level matters to your deployment, ask before you order.
Are the Cisco ASA 5508-X and 5516-X still supported by Cisco?
No. Cisco ended sale of both on 2021-08-02, and its last date of support was 2026-08-31 (Cisco notice c51-744798). Cisco names the Firepower 1000 series as the migration. Our warranty is separate from Cisco support and covers the hardware for 3 years from delivery. The Cisco ASA page has the dates for each model.
