The Brocade BR-MLX-1GFX24-X is a line card with 24 ports of 1GbE SFP. It is a module that installs into a host chassis and does not run on its own. This unit is refurbished (used): inspected, powered on and functionally tested by Townsend Networks technicians before listing. It ships as the module only.
- Compatible with
- MLX and XMR chassis running the software release the module needs: Extreme says to upgrade all interface modules and management modules to that release first. Change the ifIndex allocation to 64 before installing the module, or it will not operate properly. SFP optics are listed in the Extreme Optics Family Data Sheet.
- HOW IT DIFFERS
- BR-MLX-1GFX24-X is the full scale 24 port 1 GbE SFP module for the MLX and XMR chassis: Extreme's installation guide says it supports up to 1M IPv4 routes in hardware. Its sister BR-MLX-1GFX24-X-ML supports up to 512K routes and can be upgraded to the X version through a software license bought from Extreme. Both give 24 physical ports, both take 1 Gbps copper SFP optics at 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps, and the technical specification lists 160 W for each.
