Switch Port Count and Oversubscription Calculator
Pick a switch to see its ports by speed as the maker lists them, choose which ports carry uplinks, and get the oversubscription ratio: access bandwidth over uplink bandwidth.
| Ports | How many | Used as uplinks | Access bandwidth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 GbE | 2 | 20 Gbps | |
| 100 GbE | 32 | 0 Gbps |
- Access, 2 ports
- 20 Gbps
- Uplinks, 32 ports
- 3,200 Gbps
- Oversubscription
- 0.01:1
Switching capacity, as the maker states it: 6.4 Tbps

100 GbE: 32 ports: Arista 7050X3 Series Data Sheet, Arista Networks (Sept 4, 2026 03-0040-46; page 2, Model Overview). 7050CX3-32C : 32x 100G QSFP100 ports, 2 SFP+ ports
Switching capacity: Arista 7050X3 Series Data Sheet, Arista Networks (Sept 4, 2026 03-0040-46; page 2, Model Overview). wire speed throughput of up to 6.4 Tbps bi-directional
How it works
The ports are the maker's own groups: how many ports the switch has at each top speed. Only the groups listed are counted: a management or console port, a module the switch does not ship with, or a second small group of uplink ports is left out.
Choose how many ports of each group carry uplinks. To start with, every port of the fastest group does.
Access bandwidth is the access ports times their top speed, and uplink bandwidth is the uplink ports times theirs. The ratio is the first over the second: above 1:1, the access ports together can offer more traffic than the uplinks carry at once.
