HOW IT DIFFERS
A9K-RSP440-TR is the earlier packet transport route switch processor: 6 GB of ECC DRAM, two 16 GB SSDs and 220 Gbps per slot with one RSP or 440 Gbps per slot with a pair. Cisco's data sheet puts it at 20 lb (9 kg), 170 W typical and 450 W maximum, with IOS XR 4.2.0 as the first release. Its sister A9K-RSP880-TR carries 16 GB of DRAM, two 32 GB SSDs and an 8 core processor, and needs IOS XR 5.3.0.
