The Cisco ASR-9006-FAN is a fan tray from the Cisco ASR9006 family. It is a hot-swappable field-replaceable unit with no firmware or configuration. This unit is refurbished (used): inspected, powered on and functionally tested by Townsend Networks technicians before listing. One unit per order.

HOW IT DIFFERS
ASR-9006-FAN is the version 1 fan tray of the Cisco ASR 9006. The router contains two fan trays for redundancy, each with six axial 92 mm fans and a side-to-top to rear cooling path, inlet at the right side and exhaust at the upper rear. Cisco ended sale of ASR-9006-FAN on September 22, 2017, named ASR-9006-FAN-V2, the ASR-9006 Fan Tray Version 2, as its replacement, and set the last date of support at September 30, 2022.

Which chassis does the ASR-9006-FAN fit, and how many fans are in it? It is the fan tray of the Cisco ASR 9006 Router. Cisco says the ASR 9006 contains two fan trays for redundancy, and each tray holds six axial 92 mm (3.62 in) fans with a fan control board at its back end that connects to the backplane. Which way does the air flow through the ASR 9006 with this fan tray? Cisco gives the ASR 9006 a side-to-top-to-rear cooling path: the inlet is at the right side of the chassis and the exhaust is at the upper rear. Cisco also says the fan trays provide full redundancy and maintain the required cooling if a single fan fails. Can the ASR-9006-FAN be replaced while the router is running, and is there a newer version? Cisco says a single ASR 9006 fan tray can be swapped while the system is operational, with no cables or fibers moved and no interruption of service. Cisco's end-of-sale notice lists the ASR-9006-FAN with an end-of-sale date of September 22, 2017, and gives the ASR-9006-FAN-V2, the version 2 fan tray, as its replacement.
