HOW IT DIFFERS
ASR1001-X is the 1RU Cisco ASR 1000 in this pair. Cisco's installation guide gives it six built-in 1 GE SFP interfaces, two built-in 10 GE SFP+ interfaces and one half-height SPA bay, with 8 GB of memory in the base configuration, 16 GB at most, and up to 20 Gbps of sustained forwarding. Its sister ASR1002-X is the 2RU model, with three half-height SPA slots and a built-in 6x1GE SPA, an embedded services processor of 5, 10, 20 or 36 Gbps by license, and 4 GB of memory by default.
