MX480-PREM3-DC is the premium 3 MX480 on DC power, described by Juniper as an 8 slot MX480 with enhanced midplane, redundant RE and SCBEs. A DC-powered MX480 takes two or four DC power supplies, and the router cannot run on AC and DC together. Its sister MX480-PREM3-AC is the same premium 3 chassis on AC power, and the MX480BASE3-DC base bundle lacks the redundant RE and SCBEs in its ordering text.
