Cisco Nexus 93180YC-EX and 9372 End of Life: Where Each One Stands

Two generations of Cisco's top-of-rack Nexus are on very different points of the same road. The Nexus 93180YC-EX reached end of sale on August 9, 2022 and its last date of support is August 31, 2027. The Nexus 9372PX-E and 9372TX-E are a generation older: end of sale was October 30, 2018 and support ended on October 31, 2023.

So one is a supported switch with a published end date, and the other is already run on the owner's own spares. Both are still common in leaf roles.

What the dates mean

Cisco runs two clocks on every product. End of sale is the last day Cisco takes an order for it. The last date of support is the last day Cisco's support center takes a case and the last day a Cisco service contract covers the hardware. After that date the hardware keeps forwarding packets and the owner carries the risk: no new software fixes and no replacement from the maker.

The replacement the maker names

Cisco's notice names the N9K-C93180YC-FX3 as the replacement for the 93180YC-EX. For the 9372 pair the notice points to the Nexus 9300-EX, 9300-FX series.

What we list

The Cisco Nexus 9000 page holds every listing in the family. Part numbers listed today:

What owners do next

  • Keep running it. A switch, router or firewall does not stop working on a maker's date. Hold a tested spare of the same part number so a failure is a swap and not an outage. See the Cisco Nexus 9000 listings.
  • Buy more of what you already run. Matching hardware keeps one software image, one set of optics and one spares pool across the site.
  • Sell what you retire. When the replacement goes in, send us the list and we will quote the pull.

Every unit we ship is tested in-house first and carries our warranty. If the part number you need is not listed, request a quote and we will check the warehouse.
