HOW IT DIFFERS: BR-VDX6740-48-R is the rear-to-front airflow version of the SFP+ VDX 6740 at its 48-port tier, with up to 48 1/10 GbE optical SFP+ ports once the 24 base ports are upgraded. Extreme says a part number ending in -R means rear-to-front airflow, and its two 250 W AC power supply and fan assemblies must be replaced with -R parts. Its sister BR-VDX6740-48-F keeps the ports and weight (8.66 kg) but moves air front-to-rear.
