Which way does the air flow on the EX2300-48MP?
The airflow of the EX2300-48MP is side-to-side: four fans along the right side panel.
How much power does the EX2300-48MP draw?

How much rack space does the EX2300-48MP take?

Is the Juniper EX2300 end of life?
Yes. Juniper's end-of-life notice TSB107683, announced 30 April 2026, covers every EX2300 model on this page. Juniper lists the last order date as 30 September 2026, end of engineering as 30 September 2029, the last software version as Junos 25.4 and end of support as 30 September 2031.
What does -VC mean on an EX2300?
Juniper's EX2300 model table lists the Virtual Chassis licence as included on the -VC models and not included on the others. Up to four EX2300 switches, EX2300-C models included, can be joined into one Virtual Chassis and managed as a single switch, using the 10GbE uplink ports with SFP+ transceivers; Juniper notes that a Virtual Chassis cannot be formed over 1G SFP transceivers.
What is different about the EX2300-48MP?
It has 32 10/100/1000 ports and 16 100/1000/2500 ports, all with PoE+, six 10GbE SFP+ uplinks instead of four, a 740 W PoE budget and fans that cool side to side. Juniper's hardware guide points to the 2.5GbE ports for connecting 802.11ac Wave 2 wireless access points.
How much PoE do the EX2300 models deliver?
Juniper's model table gives the EX2300-C-12P 124 W across its 12 ports and the EX2300-48P and EX2300-48MP 740 W across all 48 ports. The T models have no PoE, and the uplink ports never carry PoE on any model.
Which EX2300 models are fanless?
The EX2300-C models, the EX2300-C-12T and EX2300-C-12P. They cool through vents and heatsinks instead of fans, and Juniper documents desk and under-desk mounting for them. The 24- and 48-port models have built-in fans.
What condition and warranty come with a Juniper EX2300 switch from Townsend?
Each listing prints its own condition. Units sold as new, refurbished or used are bench tested before they are listed: every port and module slot is checked and the previous owner's configuration is erased. They are covered by the Townsend warranty from the date of delivery; if the hardware fails in normal use we repair it or replace it with a tested unit, and the length and terms are on our warranty page. Unused hardware can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Juniper software licences and support contracts are not part of our warranty.
