Ruckus ICX 7450, ICX 7650, ICX 7750 and ICX 7850 Compared

RUCKUS sells its ICX switches in stacking families, and the family decides the ports, the uplinks and how much bandwidth a stack has between its members. This guide sets the ICX 7150, 7250, 7450, 7550, 7650, 7750, 7850 and 8200 side by side, with the older ICX 6000 models, so a buyer can read a part number and know what it holds. Every figure comes from RUCKUS and Brocade data sheets, hardware guides and end of sale notices, listed under Sources.

The short answer

For gigabit copper ports with 1 or 10 GbE uplinks, look at the ICX 7150 and ICX 7250; their P and PF models add PoE. For uplinks that can change later, the ICX 7450 and ICX 7650 take modules in slots. For 10 GbE fiber ports with 40 or 100 GbE uplinks, look at the ICX 7550 and ICX 7750, and for 25 GbE ports with 100 GbE uplinks, the ICX 7850. The ICX 7150, 7250, 7450, 7550, 7650, 7750, 7850 and 8200 each stack up to 12 switches; the ICX 6610 stacks up to 8.

Lifecycle: what the dates mean

RUCKUS gives February 7, 2022 as the ICX 7250 end of sale date, December 31, 2023 for the ICX 7650 and ICX 7750, and November 14, 2024 for the ICX 7450. Two ICX 7150 models, the ICX7150-48P-4X10GR and ICX7150-C10ZP-2X10GR, were discontinued on January 15, 2026, and RUCKUS lists the ICX 8200 as their replacement; Ruckus ICX 7150 end of sale covers which models and when. A switch keeps forwarding after its end of sale, and a spare of the same part number keeps a stack matched.
